  1. Hi Annie, something to think about.
    1) the two void details of your scheme seems underutilised and takes away from your massing in terms of the scale, most particularly the parts where it starts to shoot off to the top. Perhaps bring it back to a more sympathetic scale to your mass or think about what those offshoots are going to be if you are to keep them. Last image; think of the connection between the void hitting the ground and that which connects to the metting space. Is it structural, circulation, transition space between two clients?

    2) Electroliquid aggregation is getting there. As discussed last week think of the voids as several small "detail" moments of creativity and diversity in a somewhat restricted mass. Carry your attention to detail on your first assignment to these elements.

    Just to let to clarify a few things,

    1. The two voids have a platform which are elevators running up and down from the labs spaces to the meeting space and then down to just above the water. I agree with your suggestion of scaling down the voids, but I still want to convey the sense of a "sudden freedom of expression". I'm wondering if I should make the elevator go up above the lab spaces as well?

    2. Like I said before, the two void elements don't actually touch the ground or water, it sits just above the water. I wanted to show that as individuals, the two clients need to first push the limits of their own thinking before coming together and pushing the limits of human knowledge (hence why the meeting place is pushed out towards the edge of the waterfall).

  3. Hi Annie,

    Its nice to see you're being proactive in the task at hand.

    Regarding the void think of not just the two sandwiched between your meeting space but the ones in the middle of lab1 and the meeting space (so a total of 4 void details). As you have a simple form your answers will largely lie in how you treat the voids. As a starter have a look at SANAA's 21st Century Museum or Tadao Ando's Naoshima Contemporary Art Museum.

    1. You have to think about whether or not the offshoots are going to be used. One of the most dangerous things in architecture is to design spaces that are residual and are not going to be used in any sort of way. If you do offshoot either one or both of the voids, then how can they be utilised in the overall mass? Is there a potential for landscape connection, roof gardens etc for either one of them? Will that help or take away from your electroliquid aggregation.

    2. You've made some thoughts about how they would come together but that needs to tie in on how they will work individually on their experiments and how they will individually take the journey to the space. Youve done a sketch on the little internal oasis that relates to Agnesi's private "antisocial/wealthy" paradise and maybe its more compelling to work on that detail in tandem with the others. Wwhat happens to the "creative/problem solver" of newtown? If Agnesi's lab is an internal transparency as you have shown in the sketch then what is Newtown's lab? In a way they are binary opposites of each other yet they're combined in a regular mass which makes it all the more subtle.

    Theres only three more days, so for now focus on finding your answers in your expression of these voids and details, and how they will tie in to your overall narrative (two scientists working in separate environments with separate tasks, then coming together).

    Dont forget to look at the precedents.

    PS: scale the textures bigger, the "tile" is starting to dominate.
