Week 1

Step 2A:

This was a free hand drawing done in 2008 using a HB, 2B and 4B pencil. When I started this drawing I had no intentions of what to draw; basically just drawing with instinct and feeling. It took me about 8hrs of straight drawing and to this day I still do not understand how this drawing that looks so simple and carefree could take such a long time to compose. I think the most appealing thing to me about this drawing is that every line is continued with another.

Step 2B:

This is Delft University of Technology Library in the Netherlands by Menacoo. This is a great piece of sustainable and practical architecture which I feel is important for modern architecture. Taking advantage of natural insulation as well as exploiting the natural beauty of the four seasons shows a whole new aspect of the built environment. In the spring/summer season, people can lounge on the grass hill, while in the autumn/winter season a natural snow slope is formed.

Step 2C:
Original photo by Annie Li

This photo was taken in 2007 at Balmain. I had just stepped off the bus when I was just amazed by this sight. It was one of those "Godly" moments with a choir of sopranos singing in the background. It was a rare and and beautiful moment which I was lucky enough to be able to capture.

Step 4:
Ron Mueck, Mask II: Paul, snore, peaceful.

David Malangi, The Hunter Myth: Earth, prey, beastly.

Banksy: Culture, destroy, obdurate.
